Messages & Direct Chat

Messages live in your /inbox — OCTNE's direct-message inbox. You can chat one-on-one, create group conversations, and react to messages. Conversations are sorted by most recent activity.

Starting a conversation

Tap New Message, then search for a username. Multiple users can be added to create a group chat. The first message kicks off the thread.

Group chats

Group chats can be renamed, given a custom photo, and have members added or removed by existing members. Leaving a group removes you from future messages but keeps your history visible to the others.

Privacy settings

You control who can DM you in Settings → Privacy. Choose between everyone and followers only. Anyone outside your filter sees your message button disabled.

Reporting and blocking

You can report or block any user from their profile or from inside a conversation. Blocked users can't message you, see your posts, or follow you. See Safety & Reporting.
